If buying a home in San Antonio in 2023 is at the top of your goal list, then we need to start planning NOW!
Here is why:
On average, it takes about four weeks to get the home-buying process started, view homes and decide to make an offer on a home. Then, about another four weeks for the loan/title process before you can close on the home. And there is so much more of the process in between those steps! Let’s take a look at the timeline:
In December – we start talking about the process of buying a home in San Antonio in 2023 and get you started with the mortgage application and pre-approval process.
In January – I start sending you listings based off of all of your needs & wants in a home (i.e. single story, 4 bedrooms + office, 3.5 baths, 2 car garage, quiet neighborhood with highly-rated San Antonio schools). And of course, you continue saving money for your down payment and closing costs!
In February – We start shopping for homes (the best part)! And we hopefully find the home that you fall in love with and want to make an offer on! Even better…the seller accepts our offer!
In March – It’s closing day, and you get the shiny new keys to your beautiful new home in San Antonio.
In April – It’s finally here…it’s moving day! (Of course, you can technically move in once everything is closed, funded and you have the keys. I’m just trying to give us plenty of time here.)
In May – Your first mortgage payment is due.
How long does it take to buy a home in San Antonio?
Now – this timeline is if you start the process early, and also very flexible. There are many situations where buyers do not have the time for a six month process. And we will make that work too. But, the further in advance that you start planning, the better situation we will be in to have a smooth process.
